Wynn Everett Awards More Than $3 Million in Contracts to Veteran-Owned Vendors in Design Phase

LAS VEGAS (November 10, 2015)—Wynn Resorts has announced that it has awarded more than $3 million in contracts to certified veteran-owned businesses in the design phase of the five-star Wynn Everett resort.

The recent Wynn contracts to veteran-business enterprises total $3,165,000, or 6.2% of the entire design-phase expense. The amount is more than six times the $500,000 goal established by Wynn and the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for veteran-owned businesses in the design phase of the project.

“It’s fitting during Veteran’s Day week to recognize the veteran-owned companies that we are partnering with at Wynn Everett,” said Robert DeSalvio, president of Wynn Everett. “Supporting minority, women and veteran-owned businesses is a corporate-wide commitment that we all take very seriously at Wynn. Our outreach to other veteran-owned businesses, along with minority and women-owned suppliers, will continue throughout the construction of our $1.7 billion resort.”

Wynn Resorts has a working relationship with more than 200 minority, woman and veteranowned businesses and suppliers. Wynn Everett has reached out to veteran-owned businesses and the broader veteran community in the Commonwealth to promote job and vendor opportunities that are being created by the Wynn Everett project. The Wynn Everett team has attended and supported several veteran outreach events including the 7th annual Massachusetts Women Veteran’s Conference in Marlborough, Hiring for Heroes at Fenway Park, and the North Shore Veterans Parade in Saugus. Wynn is also proud to support
organizations that serve the veteran community, including Veterans, Inc.
