Wynn Resorts Helps Bunker Hill Day Parade Exceed Funding Goal

$10,000 Go Fund Me Donation Puts Community Driven
Fundraising Campaign Over Targeted Amount

LAS VEGAS (June 9, 2015)— Wynn Resorts announced that it has made a $10,000 donation to the Charlestown Bunker Hill Day Parade Committee that helped to exceed the group’s fundraising goal and preserve one of Boston’s and Charlestown’s most honored traditions, the annual Bunker Hill Day Parade. The donation was part of a Go Fund Me campaign that was started by Charlestown residents after less-than-expected donations placed the parade in financial peril. The $10,000 donation by Wynn put the campaign over its $20,000 goal.

“It’s a real privilege for Wynn Resorts to strengthen our relationship with the Bunker Hill Day Parade and participate in an event that defines what Charlestown stands for,” said Robert DeSalvio, President of Wynn Everett. “We know from the many neighbors that we’ve met in Charlestown that this is more than a parade; this is part of the fabric of the community. It’s a signature Boston tradition. Many members of our local Wynn team expect to be there, just as we were last year, enjoying the festivities and celebrating Charlestown’s vibrant and historic culture. We’re thrilled to be a part of it now, and in the future.”

The Bunker Hill Day Parade, Sunday, June 14th, is the largest parade held in Charlestown and commemorates Bunker Hill Day and the Battle of Bunker Hill. The parade is a popular annual event that attracts families and participants from all over the region. It is believed that the first Bunker Hill Day Parade dates back to 1786.
